Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Having successfully kept Connor alive for the first few days (hooray), it was time to celebrate Christmas Eve with Connor and the Grandparents. We had a nice dinner Christmas Eve dinner of roast lamb (my favorite). Connor slept through the whole thing, so we just played hot potato with him as we all took turns eating.

Later that evening we hosted a little gathering of friends that were still in town. The plan was to use our house as a staging area for people to come and have a drink or two with refreshments before heading out up to Ridgecrest to see the Luminarias (see our post from last year). It was a fun evening, with some of our closest friends showing up to make merry. Turns out it was too cold for most people to walk up to Ridgecrest, but my parents and I managed to drive up to take in the Christmas eve lights before they retired to their condo for the evening.

The next day the parents came over for Christmas breakfast (we feasted on ginger scones and some smoked salmon that a friend gave to us for Christmas). We then joined our good friends for a casual Christmas day buffet. Connor managed to sleep from the moment we left home to the moment we got back (a Christmas miracle!). All told, a pretty good Christmas.
