The morning shift

In order to give Ali more sleep, quite a few mornings I have roused myself when Connor decided he didn't want to sleep any more. This is typically around 6:30 am when he starts ooching around. So I roll out of bed, pick up the sleepy baby, and go and hang out in front of the computer hopefully allowing Ali an extra hour or two of sleep. I tried to snap a picture while we were spending time with each other, and here is a collection of some of them.

Taken with Photobooth on the computer. Check out the bed head on both of us.

It is getting harder to do this now that I am back at work, but the early morning time with Connor are some of my favorite memories from the first few weeks. Usually, I would sit and catch up with mail and news while he drifted in and out of consciousness. Our time would end only when he would really need something I couldn't provide. We would then go and wake up Mom.

Each of us taking measure of the other.

Is there anything better than a snoozy, smooshy baby with a warm fuzzy head on your shoulder? I think not.

A scientist, a student, and a toddler try to make their way through the tumult of everyday life. What will happen to them next? Stay tuned...
