The further adventures....

We couldn't leave El Paso without checking out the famous Dave's Pawn Shop, supposedly a haven for all things weird and creepy.

For instance, if you're looking for Nazi propaganda or a figurine for the prow of your ship, you've come to the right place.



Not to mention your need of a new prosthetic leg.









Or, perhaps, you have a fascination with all things mummified. This is your place.


After that escapade, we got on the road and headed to White Sands National Monument to play around. These massive dunes are actually gypsum deposits formed from the windblown debris evaporated from a nearby lake bed. The go on for miles and form a striking contrast to the desert landscape.

The heat was not exactly conducive to much out door playing around but we did snap some great photos. As David put it - "All the benefits of the beach, without the water". Spoken like a true land dweller.




The last highlight of our trip was to the original Owl Bar and Cafe, famous for their green chile cheeseburger. As you may have figured out, the words "green chile" anything will pretty get us there, let alone a place voted best burgers for the past 65 years.


It could have been our extreme hunger but, I must admit, they were pretty tasty!

We arrived home to air out the house and headed off for drinks and ice cream, with a side of a wander around Nob Hill. Looking forward to a lazy Sunday filled with a trip to the Frontier and some Settlers of Cataan.
