NZ: Hamner Springs

The next day of travels took us back through the interior as we went back east from the west coast back toward the east coast and Christchurch. Our destination today was to make it to Hamner Springs - a resort up in the mountains sporting naturally heated spring water. It has been a vacation destination for over 100 years.

We were blessed with great weather both days we were here, the nicest weather we had while in NZ. We spent some time walking around the town and preparing for our last meal together with my parents. In the morning, they were headed back toward the west coast for a few extra days of touring before they headed to the north island to visit a distant cousin of my father. We had a wonderful meal and after Connor went to sleep we went off to the local pub to watch the SA vs Namibia game.

The next morning after Granny and Oupa headed off, just the three of us went to spend the morning at the springs. We had a great time - they had lots pools at various temperatures, and what Connor really like was a few pools that were shallow enough for him to walk around in. After a busy morning, Connor cashed out for the drive back to Christchurch for our last night in NZ.
