Now we're cooking!

Thanks to an epic effort by our fantastic contractor and his loyal henchmen, we are off to the races. Today, the sink was all hooked up and most of the electrical lights and switches were connected and engergized. Best of all, the stove is fully functional and ready for the long weekend. The dishwasher and garbage disposal are still not quite functional, but should be up and running next week.

Above left is Ali taking the covering off the stove getting it ready to cook, and above right is the first load of dishes (not done in the bathtub) in 2 months. Below right is our first visitor to the new kitchen (our firecracker of an 82 year old retired school teacher neighbor) and another view of Ali from the dining room.

Our Thanksgiving morning began with the innagural meal in the new kitchen. It was rather fitting that is was Ali's special pancakes and yummy carne adovada sausage. A very good start. We later made a pie and squash casserole for our Thanksgiving meal with friends.
