The end of rugby season

This past weekend was the end of rugby season. Both our teams play in the Celtic 7s tourney, a great event that has bagpipe competitions, highland games, dog shows, and 3 full pitches of rugby 7s all sharing the same huge Balloon Fiesta park space. It is also a great opportunity for me to wear my kilt, which is always a bonus. But it is a full day of games, which kick off at 9 am and go through to about 4 pm, with our teams playing about every hour or so.

Right: Bestowing of coachly wisdom, right: hanging with mom.

So today was also a pretty big deal for Connor. It was his first full day away from the house and his creature comforts. He spent most of the day hanging out in the car seat in the Bob, or playing with mom or dad in the shade provided by among other things, an parked ambulance, a medical tent, and a tent in the middle of athlete's village. All told, out of the house from 8 am to 5:30 pm. It was good for us to do it, just so we know that we can. He was awesome all day, very content to look around and be fawned over by everyone he met. He was too busy to eat or sleep for much of the day, so it also was the first time we got him to sleep before 7 pm.

It also marks the first time my son got naked at a rugby event. This time only for a diaper change, but still - so proud.

Left: livin' on a prayer on his Bon Jovi blanket, and right watching some games.
