Charleston family

My sister has been living in Charleston, SC for almost a year and neither me nor my brother have been to visit. So, we planned a long weekend to coincide with David's conference in Savannah (an easy 2 hour drive away).

My brother, his wife, and my parents drove down while we flew and we all met the Friday after my last final in pharmacy school. My sister actually lives on an island just outside of Charleston with all the conveniences close at hand - so we ate, slept and lived on the island for the days we were together. Mostly this meant hanging out by the pool of my sister's apartment complex, as the weather was sunny and warm.

Connor loved the pool and the attention

The last day we were all together we headed to the beach. The last time we took Connor to open water (not a pool), he was a very unhappy camper so we had low expectations and brought lots of sand toys.

While he was very cautious at first, and wouldn't go anywhere near the water line, his Nana convinced him to get his feet wet by splashing. Before long he was waist deep, squealing with delight as Nana played with him in the waves. Intrepid thrill seeker at heart, no doubt.

As most enjoyable time does, it passed way too quickly and we are all looking forward to being together again.
