1045 Days to completion!

Free at last, free at last, god almighty free at last!
At long last we have finished the whole entire master bathroom - a toastworthy event.  We began this project Memorial day weekend (May 27) way back in 2006.  We gutted everything redoing the really poor renovation done in the early 70's.  We actually got the floor replaced, installed a new toilet, and got the vanity working really quickly (within a month).  Then progress slowed.  Really slowed.  Glacial pace people.

Finally, after increasing the height of the shower nozzle, which previously had exited the wall in the middle of David's chest, redoing the shower pan, working with the tricky walls (apparently they hadn't yet invented 90 deg angles when the house was built in the 50's), tiling, grouting, installing the fixture, and finally the shower door, we finished.  Only 2 years, and 8 months behind schedule.

Here  are some random shots of the work at various stages.  Ali is in protest over these pictures - apparently only shots of David hard at work made the cut for this post.  [Editors note - David did all the work]

Just in case your memory has better things to recall then what we started with, stay tuned for the before and after shots.

yippee! looking forward to seeing this fine, fine handiwork in person this summer.

A scientist, a student, and a toddler try to make their way through the tumult of everyday life. What will happen to them next? Stay tuned...
