New Years in Utah

Ali and I headed up to Utah for a few days to visit my parents.  We made the 10 hour drive up to Salt Lake a few days before New Years and left on New Years Day.  It is always a pretty drive, especially this time of the year with the snow on the red rocks.

We had a really nice time.  We managed to get in a day of skiing and to catch up with some old friends.  This year we've added helmets to our skiing ensemble.  A friend recently pointed out that we've spent too much time and money on our brains to risk damaging them.

The highlight of the trip was spending a few days with my parents.  We talked a lot, played a lot of cards and board games, had some wonderful meals (as usual), and had a very relaxing time.  New Years Eve was a family affair, with Dad staying up to midnight for the first time in recent memory!  We were sorry to leave, and look forward to a return.
