Amazingly, we hosted our 6th annual Christmas party (hard to believe we have been in ABQ that long)! Ali finished her finals yesterday, so it was also a great kick off to her vacation. I was busy most of the week making baking and cooking, as well as our famous homemade Irish Cream and the Mt. Vernon Christmas punch. My mom has been in town the last week, and along with her furious baking skills, we managed to make tons of cookies for the party, Connor's birthday, and the rest of the holidays. She also helped immensely with making food for the party, as both Ali's studying and an active (almost) one year old has kept us from full capacity. So Saturday of the party rolled around, and we were well prepared and ready to party.
Mount Vernon's Christmas Punch - pure booze cut with champagne! We had a nice size party this year - all told probably around 30 people. This was a perfect size too, and a nice mix of people - neighbors, friends, coworkers, and family. We love hosting parties, and this is my favorite of the year! A nice start to the holiday season. Also of note, exactly one year ago from when the last party goer was leaving the party + 4 hours, we headed off to the hospital for Connor's big arrival. Time really does fly!
