So lots of dust and discomfort for the next little while. Here is our kitchen for the next little while. We are doing the dishes in the bath tub. But we know that at the end of this will be a kitchen we both really enjoy. Ahh, remodeling is grand.

Demolition day!
So the demo started today. We arrived home to find the kitchen completely gone - cabinets, appliances, drywall, etc... Doing a little bit of archeology, we discovered that the reasons the countertops felt so short (about 2" shorter than normal). There were 4 (count them 4) complete floors - the top one, and 3 old buried ones. Two linoleum floors (both hideous), and a ugly 70's tile floor. On top of this was the current floor. The good news is that the under floor looks good (no surprises there - yay!).
