Food = Love

For anyone familiar with David's cooking style (cooking for 6 = make food for 60), he can trace his philosophy to his mother's extended family. It all boils down to a simple equation, Food = Love. Much food, much love. There has been lots of love in the cabin this week.

Cooking for 28 is a challenge but, for this family, over estimating is still a problem. By my count, we are on our 14th home made pie (so far peach, pecan, shoefly, strawberry rhubarb, rhubarb custard, grape, and raspberry custard), the 4th batch of brownies, the 2nd chocolate cake, and the 1st pecan cake (all from scratch). My aunt, a master in the dark arts of cooking, is giving pie baking lessons to the youngsters and to Ali, who are all eagerly learning.

We certainly will not starve - and are actually to the point of looking forward to eating just salad to atone for our 2 weeks of vacationing.

Pie is the best offering to the best gods. Any god that would rather have blood than pie needs a god-lobotomy.

A scientist, a student, and a toddler try to make their way through the tumult of everyday life. What will happen to them next? Stay tuned...
