In Which Connor Meets Aunt Baconcake

Finally returning to the updates of summer. One of the great things about heading back to Erie for the week was that we were able to sneak away for the day and catch up with Amy, who was able to come in from Ithaca and meet us at her parents' home outside Buffalo. For faithful blog readers, you'll remember Amy as my compadre, rugby co-coach and knitting mentor. She left NM two years ago to pursue her doctorate in history at Cornell. While we wish her all the success in the world and are happy she has found such a great program she is sorely missed.
Since Connor know occupies her room, we are very excited that she gets to meet the new tenant and give him the once over.

We met a coffee shop for lunch and to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day. Connor took to Aunt Baconcake immediately and rewarded her with all manner of flirtatious and goofy smiles.
Amy's folks graciously allowed us the use of their home while they were away and we used that as home base to allow the little man a place to pass out, but not before he was summarily attacked by a giant moose and succumbed to a fit of the giggles.

While he slept, Amy and David hit the local farmer's market and brought home a local corn and fruit. Coupled with the world-famous Kohout Caesar salad, we had a veritable feast!

The day came to a close all too quickly and we were soon headed back to Erie. Hopefully we can arrange a meeting out west sometime soon!
