We had a special treat this week. Two cool concerts within two days of each other.
First up was a concert by David Byrne the former lead singer of the Talking Heads and current solo artist. I have been obsessed with him for quite a while, and was really excited when he announced a tour date here. He was touring in support of his new album that he created in collaboration with Brian Eno. It was a great concert, with a lot of new material, and some great Talking Heads material sprinkled in. It was a high energy concert that had everyone out of their seats dancing.

Next concert was the double header of Iron & Wine opening for the Swell Season (they won the Academy Award for best song from their movie, Once). It was a good show, very mellow (especially compared to the first concert) but a solid performance. The highlight of the night was when both Iron & Wine and Swell Season joined up to do a version of Neil Young's song Albuquerque. Pretty cool. No pictures from this show, but below is a picture taken from the Patio of Kelley's Brewery on Route 66.
