A few weeks ago we went up to Denver for a very quick trip. Our purpose was two fold - visit some friends and go to looking for some road bikes. For the second goal, we went to the Veloswap- a giant sale/swap/garage sale for all things related to bicycles. We were in the market for getting some road bikes, and this was the best place to do it. We both picked up some nice cyclocross bikes, for our bike commutes and for future biking tours. Below is a picture of the line waiting to get in - like I said it was huge.

But we also were able to see a lot of good friends that all live in the Denver area. We visited a former coworker and friend of Ali's who now lives in Denver, a former coworker and friend of David's who lives in Boulder, and some good friends of our from graduate school who live in Conifer (and who just had a new baby) - all in less than 36 hours. So it was a really fun but busy trip. We left early Sunday for our drive home, below is a picture of the stark desert landscape near the Colorado-NM border.
