Columbia River Gorge + Good Food

Today we headed out for some more yummy food in Portland before we headed out to the Columbia river gorge for some more sightseeing. We stopped at Voodoo Doughnuts, an awesome breakfast stop with donuts ranging from maple bars with a slice of bacon on it (mmmm, bacon) to a voodoo doughnut (raspberry filled creation shaped like a human with stick pretzels stabbed in it). Very tasty (bacon) but slightly disturbing (voodoo). Again more details of our trip can be found on Ian's blog here.

We loved Oregon, especially since New Mexico doesn't have much of that thing called "water", either falling from the sky as rain or falling from the mountains as gorgeous waterfalls.

We had a fantastic time with Ian and Meg and they were great hosts. We do suspect however that our view of the Pacific Northwest is a little skewed, as while there we had gorgeous sunny weather and ate nothing but fantastic meals. We need to go back during the rainy season (which apparently is the whole year minus the week we were there) to see if we like it as much. We are now sun junkies, and don't think we could survive the cold rainy winters.
